But it is not just the apparent operating costs that need to be analyzed. We urge our clients to look at the "Opportunity Cost of Failure" when making decisions that impact capital. Typically, the opportunity cost related to a late project completion and delayed production startup far exceeds the contract price of the project. For instance, taking dangerous short cuts just to save a few thousand dollars can often cause huge delays in startup and commissioning, and end up costing hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost production. That is the "Opportunity Cost of Failure." The Malisko team understands this, and as a result we complete out projects on time and on budget.
